I got my
start DJing in the summer of 99, when my boyfriend at the time got into
it. At first I tagged along on record shopping outings, helping him
pick out good cuts. But soon I realized that I had my own taste in
music and that spinning was something that I could do too.
I've
always been musical, playing the piano for many years, teaching myself to
play drums in high school, and developing my voice over the years.
If I try to remember my earliest memory as a child, it would be when I was
2 years old. I was on a swing in the playground, joyfully making up
and singing a song as I gazed up at the clouds in the sky. Music is
life. And life is music.

[ DANCE ]
Started dancing at age 2 1/2
and never stopped! I studied Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Tap and was part
of the prestigious Dance program at UC Irvine (also studied Theater).
Now, mostly
into dancing all night at a party or club or drum circle. Freeform
dance, Trance Dance, start moving your body and the music (or your spirit)
takes over and you forget where you are!
I wish I
could breakdance, but I guess I was too young in the 80's. I'm still
a B-girl! Actually, if you saw me dancing to breaks or jungle, I
move with a certain style that combines really fluid modern dance-like
movements and quick starts and stops like you would see in
"popping" or "locking." I also have been known
to climb up on top of things such as speakers, platforms, cages, etc...
